Eight members of the Kilimanjaro Tribe will be taking on the Steptember challenge to raise vital funds for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance.
What is Steptember?
Each individual has to complete 10,000 steps each day for the month of September. This can be in the form of any activity that can be converted into steps – walking, aerobics, swimming, boxing and more.
Why is Steptember important?
Steptember has been set up to raise awareness and much-needed funds for the Cerebral Palsy Alliance. Cerebral palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood. One in two people with cerebral palsy are in chronic pain due to the tightening of their muscles. Many will never be able to take a single step without assistance.
How is Kilimanjaro helping?
The average office worker only takes approximately 3,000 steps everyday. This means that reaching 10,000 steps will be a physical challenge for our eight participants. We will be hosting fundraising events at our offices, and wanted to encourage the wider Kilimanjaro community to get involved by making a donation.
How to donate
Just follow these four easy steps to make a contribution to this worthwhile cause:
1. Visit the official Steptember website
2. Hit the Donate button
3. Search for ‘Kilimanjaro’ under the ‘Donate to a Member’ tab
4. Pick any one of the eight participants and make your donation!
Any amount donated will make a huge difference to people living with cerebral palsy, and it will encourage the Kilimanjaro Tribe to keep moving and reach their daily targets.
