No matter who you are, no matter how clever you are, no matter how skilled you are, you will ALWAYS get a better outcome through collaboration with others than you will get on your own.
In the context of our business, collaboration and teamwork gets the creative juices flowing. Brainstorming ideas creates energy, and energy creates better, unique, creative solutions. No one has a monopoly on ideas. Where others have done it before you, ask them and add their knowledge and experience to your efforts. We cannot afford to re-invent the wheel to satisfy our own egos. It’s about the organisation having the knowledge – not the individual. If someone in the organisation already has the knowledge, use it. There is no constraint to acquiring NEW knowledge in the organisation. Communication is the key to synergising. Informal communication between team members is the most effective means of communication. Sometimes, some written communication is required. We avoid bureaucratic and tedious written communication between team members. We encourage conversations, e-mails, whiteboards, brief notes, scribbles, collation of samples, voice messages, photographs, and any form of communication which simplifies and improves the process of communication.
